Pulaski Ministry Opportunities

Blog, News

As the weather gets warmer, both of Northstar’s campuses have the opportunity to serve their communities through local service projects. This year you can get involved with a couple of Northstar Pulaski’s projects by reading and responding to the information below.

Critzer Elementary Project Day
When: Tentatively Saturday, June 14
Where: Critzer Elementary School (100 Critzer Dr, Pulaski, VA)
Who to Contact: Andrew Weikel
Needs:  We will be repainting the states on the sidewalk, painting “buddy benches” on the playground, & other minor projects around the school. This work day will be a partnership with the PTO & the faculty of the school, so it will be a great chance to say ‘thank you’ for allowing us to meet there each week. We will also need folks to help coordinate some of the various projects for the day.

Meadowview Neighborhood Cleanup
When: This project has been pushed back to some time in May.
Where: Meadowview neighborhood in Pulaski (107 Meadowview Drive, Pulaski, VA)
Who to Contact: Undetermined…would you like to help? Email office@northstarpulaski.org.
Needs: We will be coordinating with the Community Housing Partners (CHP) for a day of painting, mulching, & sprucing up the apartment complex. We will need as many people possible to help with coordinating various projects with the residents. Following the work, we will sit down to a catered meal with everyone who helped during the day.

Solomon’s Closet
When: May 12-16 for packing away winter clothing. May 19-23 for organizing and displaying the spring and summer clothing.
Where: Solomon’s Closet (45 Jefferson Ave S, Pulaski, VA)
Who to Contact: Undetermined…would you like to help? Email office@northstarpulaski.org.
Needs:
Last December we helped New Life Nazarene get their clothing closet off the ground, which is already an incredible asset to the community. Now they need help transitioning their stock for the seasons.

Please be in prayer as to how you can help with any of these projects, & others that begin to surface!
