Recap: Back to the 50s at the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

Blog

Each year Northstar takes time to say thank you to all of its volunteers with a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner. This year it was a 50s bash! The guys greased back their hair while the ladies donned poodle skirts, scarves and high heels. Highway 55 catered. Everyone enjoyed burgers and dogs as they sipped coke from old fashion glass bottles.

After dinner, guys and dolls enjoyed a swing on the checkered dance floor and ice cream from the sundae bar.

All this fun to say, thank you. From taking meals to families to Sunday morning greeters, Northstar counts on all of its volunteers throughout the year. Matt. 20:28 tells us, “even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.” Jeff shared that Jesus demonstrated this at the Last Supper when He washed the disciples’ feet.  When we volunteer, we are following Jesus’s example.
