God loves you. You hear it every Sunday. You see it on the bumper sticker of the minivan in front of you at the stoplight. You sing it to your children. We hear and see these words often, but we should never go numb to this simple phrase. God loves you!
Recently, I heard Scott Young, the Commander of GraceLife AWANAs, call the Bible “God’s love letter to us.” I love that! His Word is full of reminders of His perfect love for you. His Word reminds you that He chose you. He has a plan for you. He longs to be gracious to you. He is your perfect peace. He is gentle and kind to you. He is your Savior. I encourage you to read these scriptures about His love, to read His Word, His love letter to you, everyday. So the next time that you see or hear, “God loves you,” you’ll feel it more deeply.
God Chose You:
- “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
- “For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.” (Ephesians 1:4)
God Has a Plan for You:
- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11)
God Longs to be Gracious to You:
- “Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!” (Isaiah 30:18)
God is Your Perfect Peace:
- “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)
- “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
God is Gentle and Kind to You:
- “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt.11:28-30)
- “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
God is Your Savior:
- “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:17)
- “Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?” (Romans 2:4)
God is Always with You:
- “God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” (Hebrews 13:5b)
