If you like outdoors bring your boy(s) and come camp with us on Friday August 12-13. After a hearty breakfast 0n Saturday morning, we will load the New River with an armada of canoes/kayaks and spend roughly four hours on the water. We will head back to camp, break down camp, and head home for dinner on Saturday.
The cost is $20 per family, which includes your camping spot and breakfast on Saturday morning. If you need to rent a canoe, they areavailable for $35. You will also need to provide your own dinner on Friday and any snacks/drinks.
If you would like to carpool and/or help haul boats down to the site, please email Neal Nelson if you attend the Blacksburg campus or Dave Farris if you attend the Pulaski campus.
To help us keep track, please register on the Facebook event page, or contact Dave or Neal no later than Sunday August 7. There is a maximum of 50 camping spots available between both Northstar campuses (Blacksburg and Pulaski). Please make sure to have life jackets for all children under 18.
Tentative Schedule:
Friday
- get to Mill Race Campground whenever you can & set up camp
- dinner is on your own
- hang out around the fire
Saturday
- camp breakfast at 8:00 a.m.
- shuttle and float around 10:00 a.m.
- pack up camp and head home around 4:00 p.m.
