This Nov 27th is #GivingTuesday. This special day began in 2012 to promote generosity on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. Ironically, it follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday. We want to encourage you to consider prioritizing your generosity this November and plan ahead so that your spending does not inhibit your giving.
As we enter this season characterized by charitable giving, we do so in light of a recent message that reminded us that generosity flows from worship and confidence in God’s goodness. Thanksgiving gives us a chance to express our gratitude to God for all He’s blessed us with. Christmas reminds us of God’s greatest gift.
If you are interested in participating in #GivingTuesday this year, Facebook has pledged to match gifts, up to a total of $7 million. If you give to Northstar (or other charities there), they will be doubly blessed. We encourage you to consider one (or more) of the following:
- Northstar’s Facebook Giving link – Give there before the $7 million threshold is reached. (You can also create your own fundraiser that benefits Northstar on Facebook with this link.)
- Immeasurably More Campaign – Northstar’s building campaign, which kicked off in the fall of 2013, is in full swing as we continue looking forward to our future ministry center and home on Prices Fork Road.
- Holiday Missions Offering – Each year, we celebrate what God has done as we give toward missionaries, ministries, and agencies, locally, nationally, and internationally.
- Lottie Moon Christmas Offering – 100% of this offering goes directly to overseas missionaries through the International Mission Board.
