Recap and video: Harvest Hoedown

Blog, Children's Ministry

Fall in the New River Valley…

..is filled with oranges, reds, the smell of burning wood and PUMPKINS! It has become a tradition to experience all the fall feels at Sinkland Farms each year at Harvest Hoedown!

Harvest Hoedown is a time for folks who go to Northstar and folks who just want to come and enjoy a fun night to celebrate the beautiful place we live. As most folks arrive they decide to check out the variety of pumpkins covering the hills of Sinkland Farms. Large tractors hauling trailers lined with seats take people out to the pumpkin filled hills to pick out pumpkins and take pictures with friends and family. Hot dogs and s’mores are on the menu for a relaxed casual evening outside by the barn. The night always ends with bringing down the barn, and this year was no different. We tear it up line dancing in the barn led by Katherine Lawson, professional line dance caller.

Harvest Hoedown has always been a favorite of ours, and we always see new faces show up every year. We had such a good time this year, and we certainly can’t wait for next years Hoedown either. Check out the highlights in the video below!
