What is justice? What does the Bible have to say about it? Why does it matter how Christians respond to injustice? Justice seems to be at the forefront of our country’s collective thought these days with the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on poor communities as well as the recent murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. Tim Keller’s book “Generous Justice” discusses how Christians can live lives of justice empowered by our experience of grace. Through teaching and breakout group discussion, we want to explore how we can personally and collectively pursue justice here in the New River Valley!
The study will be based on the book, but it is not a requirement that you read the book in advance. Our goal is to provide a space for us as the church to study what Scripture says about justice, discuss what it means for a pursuit of justice to flow out of the grace that we have experienced from God, and also how this practically can play out in our lives.
