We are excited to launch our next in-depth study of God’s Word in 2016 as we begin the book Acts. Acts is a dynamic book detailing the growth of the New Testament church under the new leadership of Jesus’ disciples. In its pages, we encounter vibrant faith, powerful prayer and jaw-dropping “acts” of the Holy Spirit through the apostles.
Acts has been dubbed “Infant’s Progress,” for it traces the history and growth of the “baby church.” It’s also been called “The Young Church in Action.”
It’s all a story of the “sent church.” Beginning in the first chapter, we see the growth of the message of Jesus across the Roman Empire as the disciples are faithful to obey Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations in Matthew 28:18-20.
As we study the book of Acts for the next few years, we will be refreshed as a church, reminded as God’s people and re-energized by truth to serve our world in the power of God. The mission of the early church continues to be our mission. Their story is our story.
