It is with sadness but gratitude for his service and excitement for his new ministry position that we announce the resignation of our Worship & Media Pastor, Cody Davenport. Cody has accepted a position at Lakewood Ranch Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida as Worship Pastor. Cody said, “For over a year, we’ve felt a pull from the Lord for something that we couldn’t put our fingers on, and throughout 2015 have been praying through different opportunities.” God provided, and the Davenports will be moving in May. His last Sunday with Northstar is May 10.
Cody has been a fixture at Northstar since 2007, when he became the Worship & Youth Minister as a new Liberty University graduate. Since coming to Northstar, Cody has been instrumental in developing a gifted worship team tha has grown to lead worship in multiple services. He’s also help supervise and provide worship leadership for Northstar’s Pulaski campus as well served other local churches as a resource and encouragement. In 2012, Cody released a self-titled worship CD. His talents in videography, graphic design and event design have been a blessing for our church as well.
Cody has also blessed us with his joyful servanthood, sense of humor and, of course, musical talent. He will be missed, but we are grateful for his time here at Northstar and excited to see how God uses him and his family in their new community.
