“Why are you looking among the dead for someone who is alive? He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead!” (Luke 24:6)
We make a big deal about Easter at Northstar! It’s the highlight of the Christian year. It announces that Jesus has defeated death and sin! Through His crucifixion and resurrection, all people may have forgiveness through faith in Christ.
Northstar’s schedule for our church services on those days will be as follows:
- March 20 is Palm Sunday! Our church will hold two services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. at Blacksburg Middle School. One special feature of this Sunday is that there will be miniature donkeys present to help visually teach our children (and all who are young at heart) about Jesus triumphal entry (Luke 19:28-40)
- March 25 is Good Friday, which will be held at 6:00 p.m. at Blacksburg Middle School. It will be a shortened service – about 45-50 minutes, designed for your reflection on the crucifixion. There will be childcare and children’s ministry available.
- March 27 is Easter Sunday, and we will have two celebration services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. at Blacksburg Middle School.

Help us spread the news in the New River Valley; invite your friends, neighbors and coworkers to our services! Pick up some Easter postcards at church and pass them out in the community. A personal invitation with your encouragement to attend has a significant likelihood of someone taking a step closer to understanding how much God loves them through Jesus.
