GAP Summer Ministry Overview

May 24, 2018

During the summer, the GAP ministry enjoys taking some time to rest and recharge, while still planning events for people that are still in town to get together! We do encourage individual members of GAP to plan get-togethers and invite people throughout the summer, but we also want to give some more organized opportunities for fellowship! Some details are listed below, but more will be available closer to the event.

Salem Red Sox Game: On Friday, June 22 we will be organizing a group to go watch the Salem Red Sox play the Frederick Keys at 7:05 p.m. We can carpool from the ministry center, or meet at the ballpark.

Serving at Roanoke Rescue Mission: Saturday morning, July 21 GAP will be going to serve breakfast at the Roanoke Rescue Mission. This will be a great opportunity partway through the summer to go and serve some of the less privileged in our community, so please plan to join us!

Guys’ and Girls’ Night: On Saturday, August 4 we are going to split up the guys and the girls of GAP to spend some time with each other, just hanging out and enjoying the last bit of summer! More details on exactly what will be happening, including exact time and location will be coming soon!

Fall Kickoff: Before you know it, summer will be over, and it’ll be time to get back into the swing of a new semester! Welcoming new people and reconnecting with old friends is the focus of the GAP Fall Kickoff on Saturday, August 25! We’ll have a cookout, some games, and information about small groups and events for the fall semester.

We hope you plan to join us for some or all of these events! Stay tuned for more information as the dates draw closer, and we hope you have a great and restful summer!
