GAP – VT Big Event

News, GAP

It’s almost time for the Virginia Tech Big Event happening on Saturday, April 7! This is a yearly student-run day of service where thousands of people go out into the community in groups to complete service projects throughout the Blacksburg and Christiansburg areas. You can find more information about Big Event here.

Last year, GAP organized a group to participate for the very first time and it was a blast! We were able to go into a neighborhood and help clear some walking trails, stain someone’s deck, and do some mulching. If you are interested in participating please register by using this link. You DO NOT have to be a VT student to participate. Where it asks for your VT ID number, just put your phone number instead. You can also sign up from the main Big Event page under Volunteer Registration, in which case use the Access Code 0EBC8-00083.

Please make sure you will actually be able to participate before you register. We understand that things come up, but it is a strain on the group and event as a whole when people drop out at the last minute, since the projects and plans are intended for a group of a certain size. Please make sure you can commit to being there before you sign up! More information on meeting place/time, and project will be sent out closer to the date!
