December 1 is Giving Tuesday!

In 2012, the movement known as Giving Tuesday began. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to put some of your money to good use because it follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday – two days where we spend lots of our money. Now, we aren’t saying that the new Titanium Panini Grill you just bought is a bad use of your money, but we would like to raise the notion that there may be better uses. Giving Tuesday is an idea that harnesses the power of social media and collaboration, encouraging people around the world to celebrate and encourage giving.

In 2019, our “Giving > Getting” sermon series encouraged us to be good stewards of the resources with which God has provided us. As we enter a season characterized by charitable giving, kicked off by this year’s Giving Tuesday, we do so remembering gratitude. We want to be thankful for all that God has blessed us with.

Giving ideas

If you are interested in participating in #GivingTuesday this year, here are three directions you can choose to give through:

Immeasurably More Campaign

Northstar’s building campaign, which kicked off in the fall of 2013, needs $3 million to be finished and allow us to move in debt-free! God has provided over $4.2 million over the past eight years! What an amazing story! Please consider giving (and sharing the opportunity to give with your families and friends). The social media campaign for the building at GiveSendGo is here: dontgo.be/challenge.

Holiday Missions Offering

Each year, we celebrate what God has done as we give toward missionaries, ministries, and agencies, locally, nationally, and internationally.

Regular Ministry Offering

This is how the church “runs” – ministry budgets, minister salaries, office supplies, discipleship materials, children’s resources, etc.
