How Did You Spend Your Harvest Hoedown?

Blog

Sunday, October 15, may not have felt much like autumn, but that didn’t stop the people of Northstar Church from celebrating fall and all the season has to offer!

Originally, Northstar’s annual Harvest Hoedown was supposed to take place the week before, on October 8. But the forecast of heavy rain from the remnants of Tropical Storm Nate gave us pause. The rain didn’t really come as predicted, but having the event postponed turned out to be a great thing. The weather could not have been better!

It was a sunny evening and the cool autumn air you tend to expect in mid-October had not yet arrived in the New River Valley. Folks came from all over the NRV to Sinkland Farms to experience their corn maze, the hay rides, and the pumpkin patch. In addition, there were slides for the kids (and the young at heart)! Dinner was made up of hot dogs and chips and, later in the evening, s’mores. And let’s not forget the line dancing in the barn!

Words cannot do justice to the amount of fun that was had at this year’s Harvest Hoedown! So we’ll let the pictures and video fill in the blanks! Head over here to view our pictures and be sure to upload any of your own that you’re willing to share from the event! And check out this amazing video that Carolyn Noble was willing to put together!
