15 years in borrowed and rented space. We are literally days away from identifying a contractor to build our first ministry center. While we’ve been waiting a long time for this season in the history of our church, it is surreal to finally be “here.”
This week, we are hosting a Q&A meeting with interested contractors. I’ll be sharing our vision for our building. Our building team leaders will answer questions, and before a month passes, a selection will be made.
While it had seemed like things dragged on interminably during the campaign phase of this project (and we’re not done yet!), now that we have hit this point in the project, we are humbled and being challenged.
We truly believe that God is leading us in this direction, and we’ve been slow, diligent and disciplined as we’ve approached these days. We still have a long way to go, but now is the time to actively help.
What can you do?
The building won’t get built by a contractor. This building will be built with your help. Here are five things you can do to help:
- Volunteer to serve on the Building Team. We need people in the following areas:
• Writers/bloggers, photographers, videographers – Communication Team
• Passion and interest in prayer – Prayer Team
• Networkers, outgoing personalities – Fundraising Team
• Construction experience, building experience – Building Team - Make a short video about how God has used the ministry of Northstar. Your video encourages the church and illustrates some of what God has done through the last 15 years.
• Video Guidelines here - Pray for Northstar each Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. That’s when our weekly staff meeting is, and we begin each meeting in prayer. We’d love to know that the people of Northstar are praying together once a week.
- Keep up with the fundraising progress. You can check out the latest total raised on the “Give” page of the building site.
- Subscribe to the blog to be aware of the latest updates and news on the campaign. This will help you stay informed.
We are about to enter crazy days as a church family. Once the contractor is selected, things will progress rapidly toward “dirt flying.” These are amazing days to be this generation of Northstar. Let us Be the Church together.
