In our last post, Pausing and Praying, we embraced the reality that we are not where we want to be financially in our Immeasurably More campaign. We are not discouraged. Honestly, that’s what a campaign is for

  • to create awareness
  • to communicate the vision
  • to lead as many as possible to pray
  • to mobilize people to give
  • to encourage our members and regular attenders to share our church’s project with family and friends

Since our Member Meeting on May 31, our Building Team has been in praying and thinking mode. At that meeting, we identified five practical areas to consider in order to move forward:

  1. Reduce the project size
  2. Increase the down payment
  3. Show greater cash flow
  4. Identify additional sources for fundraising
  5. Investigate alternative sources for funding/financing

We are actively considering all five options, and we have been grateful for the input and ideas of our members in the last few weeks. It’s deeply encouraging to see our church family respond with unity and joy in this time of prayerful pause. We are blessed as a church!

This past Sunday, during a spontaneous share time, Britt Stoudenmire offered an encouraging word to the church about this time of pause.

[see below for a podcast link]. He affirmed those who have made significant commitments to the campaign, and he shared that during this time of prayerful pause, others have an opportunity to consider their own level of commitment before the Lord.

I’d like to offer a call to action for our members as our building team works faithfully to identify strategies and continues to listen to the Lord for His guidance.

Call to Action: Make a Commitment

  1. Consider serving on a sub team. There are three teams – Fundraising, Prayer, and Communication – that would welcome fresh participants. If you’d be willing to serve or would like more information, please contact Jim Rancourt.
  2. Commit to our next church-wide prayer time – Sunday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. Contact Amy Van Covern for more details and be sure to review our last prayer guide (June 18 prayer time).
  3. Make a financial commitment to the campaign. You can fill out a pledge card at this link.

As we research, pray, and share ideas with one another, we are confident that God will lead us ahead. We sense that this is a precious time for our church to grow in our faith. It’s a time for us to be eagerly watching for how the Father will work.

Our Prayer Team leader, Amy Van Covern said:

“I am super excited to see where God is leading us as a church through our Immeasurably More campaign. It has been encouraging to join in prayer with several of you as we truly seek to see where God is moving and how we can join Him. It is my hope that many more of us will be able to come together in unity and become a part of this process because I know the God we serve is large and can and will do big things if we are willing to seek and follow Him. And prayer is one of our best tools that He has given each and every one of us to use.”

We hope you’ll join us and spread the word about what God is doing with Northstar in these days of our Immeasurably More campaign! It’s an invitation to be involved and committed to His work and ways.
