On Friday, April 6 was Northstar’s deadline for interested contractors to submit bids. We received three bids and have chosen two of those submissions to invite to interviews on Monday, April 30. We are excited about the coming days and also aware of the great need for prayerfulness and trust in the Lord.
This phase that we are preparing to enter will involve working with our selected contractor to value-engineer our building plans in a way that will enable us to meet our $6 million budget. Our vision for our building to be a true center of activity for the community is vital to us to preserve as we move into this phase.
This year is also our final year of the original fund-raising campaign (concludes in October). We currently have $2.8 million in the bank, and we’ve been approved for financing of $4.2 million. However, we earnestly desire that the Lord provides more funds in hand (and preferably ALL funds in hand) so that we have to finance less.
As the contractor selection process wraps up, we should be seeing construction begin on the land this fall! Exciting days indeed for our church family.
What You Can Do:
- Join us in prayer. If you haven’t yet been out to the land for a prayer time at the cross, please visit this page and print off the prayer guide. Take it with you and spend an hour on the land in prayer with your family, friends or small group. It’s a great activity for a lunch break with the advent of spring weather.
- Share our vision with family and friends. You never know who God may use and how He may use others to help bring us closer to our goal.
- Make a financial commitment to the campaign. Our hope is that before the end of 2019, we will be in our new facility! These are days to give and to give generously. God will bless your generosity, and of course, your church family will rejoice as God provides what we need through cheerful givers like yourself.
Picnic on the Land
If you haven’t been on the land, Sunday, April 29 will be fun opportunity for you to join us there! After the 10:00 a.m. service that morning, we will be enjoying a Picnic on the Land! Make plans to pack a lunch and join your church family there!
