Why are you involved in youth ministry?
I got involved with Reverb because I felt called to serve the Lord at my church here in Blacksburg and I’ve always enjoyed working with middle/high school students.
How were you impacted as a young person for Jesus?
I grew up in the church so I have known about Jesus my entire life. The beginning of my growth period began when I got involved in my youth ministry in 6th grade. I had so many adult leaders pouring into me and encouraging me to pursue Jesus.
What has impacted you during your time serving?
I think the biggest impact on me while serving with Reverb has been getting to know a wide range of girls. I have loved delving into their lives with them and hopefully helping them process through the tough stuff.
What would you say to those who are interested in getting involved?
If you’re interest in getting involved I’d say go for it. I was scared at first to volunteer because I was worried about fitting something else into my schedule but the Lord has consistently proved His faithfulness in helping me schedule everything.
How would you encourage young people to get involved?
I would encourage young people to get involved for the community. Middle school and high school is tough so it’s always comforting to have a strong support system of people who share the same beliefs as you. Plus there’s so many fun activities that you get to do when involved with a youth ministry.
