Stephen Ministry Open House

If someone were to ask you, “What is Northstar’s Stephen Ministry?” Would you know how to respond?

For a long time, Stephen Ministry has been the sort of thing that has unintentionally flown under the radar at Northstar Church. It’s a ministry that our church provides that is not often talked about. Maybe you’ve heard of Stephen Ministry because someone on staff mentioned it to you one time. Maybe you saw our table on Missions Sunday.

We don’t want to fly under the radar anymore!

We are so grateful for those who currently make up our caregiving team! It is amazing to see how God is using these folks to walk with individuals through difficult times since this ministry got started at Northstar. For the past two years, Stephen Ministry has been led by Aaron Peck. We are thrilled to announce that we now have three additional leaders in Ellen Cianelli and David and Gloria McEwen! Together, these leaders have been meeting to share a vision for what Stephen Ministry is and where it can go in the months and years to come.

Stephen Ministry is intended to be available for those who are hurting and in need, for those facing difficult circumstances and just want to know that someone is going to be there to show them the love of Christ. Admittedly, it’s hard to be available if people don’t know we’re here.

We want you to know about Stephen Ministry.

We want you to know where to find us. We want you to get excited about how this ministry can and will grow. We want you to get involved!

On Tuesday, February 19, we will be having an Open House at Northstar Reserve starting at 6:30 p.m. This is for any and all who are interested in learning more about Stephen Ministry or getting involved by becoming Stephen Ministers.

The Open House is being planned as a casual event and there is no pressure for you to sign up for any trainings. It is purely meant to be fun and informational. Pizza will be provided.
