#ThinkToChange series for the summer

May 13, 2015

Spiritual growth is not an option, God expects his children to grow up.

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes.  Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ (Ephesians 4:11-15)

We are to grow up into Christ (Rom. 8:29, 2 Cor. 3:18, Gal. 4:19); spiritual maturity equals Christ-likeness. God uses His word, His Spirit, and His people to help us grow in the context of daily life, relationships, and challenges. A lot of the times we only focus on one aspect of spiritual growth. We focus on the basic beliefs or we focus on spiritual disciplines or we talk about behaviors.

In Think to Change we will look holistically at …

  • how our belief (what is true)
  • guides our behavior (our obedience to God’s word) which in turn
  • determines who we become (transformation).

While each message can stand on its own, you will want to listen online to any messages you miss so you can get the big picture of God’s design in Think to Change.
